Unparalleled Instrumental Programme
Our vast Instrumental Programme offers over 400 one-to-one lessons every week, delivered by our dedicated full-time instrumental staff. From brass and woodwind to strings, singing, and percussion, we provide expert instruction across all musical disciplines, ensuring personalised attention and rapid progress for every student. We encourage our students to invest in external music examinations to enhance skills, boost confidence and provide valuable recognition of their achievements.
Exceptional Extra-Curricular Opportunities
Our outstanding whole school extra-curricular programme caters to every musical interest and skill level:
- Full-size symphony orchestra
- Various string, woodwind, and brass ensembles
- Comprehensive choral programme from Reception to Year 13, including a large choral society, chamber choir, and smaller vocal ensembles
- Music theory classes from beginner to advanced levels
- Digital music making and recording techniques club
- Rock and Pop School featuring multiple Rock Bands for all levels
International Performance Opportunities
We believe in providing our students with global exposure and organise an annual Music Concert trip to allow our musicians to shine on an International stage. These experiences provide students with invaluable cultural exchanges, broadening their musical perspectives and offering rare opportunities to showcase their talents and also create lifelong memories.
- Recent successful trips for our chamber orchestra and choir to Rome and Salzburg
- Performances in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha, allowing our musicians to compete in world renowned festivals.
Year-Round Concerts and Events
In order to celebrate and showcase the talents of our musicians we organise a wide range of concerts and events throughout the academic year in a variety of settings:
- Informal recitals and larger events like winter and summer concerts
- Festive Fayre and Iftar in the Park celebrations
- Graduation ceremonies and competitions
- Our school-created national competition - the Young Musicians of the Gulf (YMOG)
- The newly formed St Chris Performing Arts Festival
- Opportunities to perform in the orchestra for three main musical productions annually
